The next chapter in MachineGames’ take on the Alternate History of Wolfenstein – a co-operative shooter called Wolfenstein: Youngblood, has finally received a release date of July 26th 2019. Better yet, Bethesda Softworks has even set-up the ability to play the game with your friends even if they don’t have the game via the new Buddy Pass.
In a similar way to EA’s A Way Out, one player will have to purchase Wolfenstein: Youngblood’s Deluxe Edition and share its “Buddy Pass” with a friend in order to play the game together. According to Bethesda, the Buddy Pass will allow the second player to enjoy the game for free as long as they are playing cooperatively, and the pass can be shared among multiple friends – however the access can be only used one at a time with the game’s owner.
What’s really surprising about YoungBlood’s release is its price – with the Deluxe Edition setting you back only $39.99 USD with includes special in-game costumes and weapons as well as the Buddy Pass. The normal release will only be $29.99 USD, while pre-orders will receive some more cosmetic bonuses.
Announced at E3 2018, YoungBlood takes place in London during the 1980’s in an alternate universe where the Nazi’s won World War II. Taking place after the events of Wolfenstein 2: the New Colossus (which is set in 1961), players take control of B.J. Blazkowicz’s twin daughters, Jessica and Sophia, as they search for their father who went MIA.
Wolfenstein YoungBlood will be available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
