The Mummy which stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe is the start of Universal’s Dark Universe and so far it has been pretty divisive between reviewers. However there is hope that the series will at least get a really good video game out of it thanks to Shantae developer – Wayforward.
Wayforward has announced that they are working on a movie tie-in game that will be a 2D platformer called The Mummy Demastered, and it will place you in control of “an elite Prodigium agent (the agency headed by Russell Crowe’s Dr Jekyll) who is tasked to take down Princess Ahmanet’s army of the undead” and to “save the world at any cost.”.
The game will feature various locations including a forest, a military complex and the sand-storm streets of London. Despite being based on the film which releases today, Wayforward’s Pixelated game will not be available in until late August where it will be available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
