At TennoCon, a fan expo dedicated to all things Warframe, publisher and developer Digital Extremes announced that the 3rd-person Sci-Fi Ninja shooter will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The Free-to-play shooter is being ported by Panic Button, the studio that has ported games like RWBY Grimm Eclipse, Primal Carnage Extinction to consoles and more recently Rocket League and DOOM to the Switch. Warframe has been available on PC and PS4 since 2013 and released a year later on Xbox One.
This serves as another high-profile free-to-play title joining the Switch library, as last month both Fallout Shelter and Fortnite released on the Nintendo Hybrid Console. Warframe itself is listed as the 4th most popular game on Steam at the moment as measured by current players, so there is no doubt we’ll have plenty of people enjoying the title when it launches.
There is no release date for Warframe on the Switch at this time, but we will keep you posted.
