With a notable lack of advertising from Sony, I was surprised to see that retailers were selling out of Supermassive Game’s Choose-Your-Path horror game, Until Dawn, effectively becoming the Sleeper Hit of the year. The game has done so well that the developers are contemplating a possible sequel.
“I think that you should expect the team to build on what we’ve done with Until Dawn, whether it’s in horror or in other genres,” executive producer Pete Samuels said of the developer’s future in an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle. Considering that all of the characters can die before the game’s ending, “a sequel in the traditional sense” isn’t really possible.
Still, it may be a while before we see a sequel. “We’ve investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2 but it probably is a little early to be discussing that,” he said. We gave the game a 8.6 for our review, citing it’s fun story, well done characters and it’s great graphics.
