It seems that Sony’s upcoming Uncharted movie based on the popular game franchise has taken two step forward and one jump back as reports from Variety stated that the upcoming film will be penned by Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, the duo writers who worked on the light hearted adventure flick National Treasure and it’s sequel; and whose other works include Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, The 6th Day and Bad Boys 2.
It seems to be a good choice for the writing, but what about the director? It seems that the latest director Neil Burger who recently directed Limitless is no longer attached to the project. This is opening up a new pending director for the movies as well as a new actor to play Nathan Drake who originally set to be played by Mark Wahlburg.
Several Internet petitions have been opened up to attempt to have Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion, however at this moment this is strictly a rumor and falls on the issue if Sony will give him the role or if Nathan Fillion even wants the role.
