Ubisoft has announced that they will be shutting down their 2 free-to-play games, Ghost Recon: Phantoms and The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot later this year. The reasoning that Ubisoft provided for both the projects has stated that both games just didn’t live up to their expectations according the GRP and MQfEL FAQ.
Mighty Quest is set to close on October 25th, while Ghost Recon fans will gave a little more time with the game, with the servers closing on December 1st. Both game’s store are officially closed and no refunds will be given for those who still have credits to use in game.
It’s always sad to see online only games get shut down, but we do have the good news of knowing that there hasn’t been any layoffs in regards to the teams maintaining these games as they have been moved to other projects. For those needing a Ghost Recon fix will just have to wait for the upcoming Ghost Recon: Wildlands when it releases on March 7th of next year!
