Back in 2009, James Cameron released Avatar and audiences flocked to see it, meanwhile Ubisoft was given the rights to publish a game based on the property and it was… Okay to say the least. Players were given the ability to fight for Pandora as a Navi or a Human with different branching missions.
8 years later, James Cameron is back at work on a new Avatar movie series and Ubisoft is once again coming back to handle the game. The new AAA Title will be handled by Massive Entertainment, who were behind last year’s Tom Clancy MMO/Shooter, The Division. The studio released a small press announcement video, which shows concept art and clips from the original film as well as some statements from the developers and James Cameron.
The video doesn’t tell us much about the project, but hints that the game is going to be a massive open world title and that it’ll be available on consoles and PC. No release date or further information has been given at this time.
