Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag had just been announced and it’s already being nitpicked by some groups, the latest coming from PETA, who complaint was that Ubisoft was over glorifying the hunting of whales and called the action/minigame as ‘disgraceful.’
Ubisoft responded to the group with the following statement.
“History is our playground in Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is a work of fiction that depicts the real events during the golden era of pirates. We do not condone illegal whaling, just as we don’t condone a pirate lifestyle of poor hygiene, plundering, hijacking ships, and over-the legal-limit drunken debauchery.”
Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag is still set to launch this October for all current and next generation consoles.
