Ubisoft will be expanding their operations in Quebec with a major investment of $28 Million CAD (roughly $25,266,816.09 USD) over the next 3 years to reach the goal of adding 100 new positions to assist with AAA quality game production in their Quebec City studio.
Along with this hefty update to the budget, Ubisoft will also receive $10,000 from the government to assist with the Quebec City growth as part of the ESSOR program. This is the same program that helped WB Montreal which released it’s first AAA title last year, Batman: Arkham Origins.
The Quebec City studio was created in 2005 and since then has done work on the Assassins Creed, Prince of Persia, and the Might and Magic series. In September 2013, Ubisoft stated that the would be investing $365 Million Dollars into the Quebec studios over seven years, this includes the successful team at Ubisoft Montreal, in hopes of creating over 500 new positions.
