Assassin’s Creed: Unity has left a giant stain on both Ubisoft and the popular franchise after it’s launch thanks to a massive amount of bugs, and in general bad P.R. handling in regards to Resolution and multiplayer characters.
“Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues,” Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat wrote in the franchise blog. “I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin’s Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential.”
As part of the apology, Ubisoft will be giving out the Assassins Creed: Unity “Dead Kings” DLC for free. The DLC originally was part of the Season Pass which also included Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.
Since the DLC provided is part of the pass, Ubisoft will be cancelling the Season Pass. For those of you who had purchased the Season Pass or the Assassin’s Creed: Unity Gold Edition prior to this, you will still receive the Season Pass content including the mentioned Assassin’s Creed Chronicles game, as well as a free Ubisoft game which includes your choice of The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015. Currently Ubisoft is working on a way to process this offer, so stay tune on how you can redeem this offer, or follow Ubisoft’s FAQ.
Ubisoft is hard at work patching the game with the most recent patch repairing over 300 bugs.
