Ubisoft has been making good on their promise of post-launch support for their games and recently announced some plans for Year 2 content for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands. The publisher has stated that there will be 4 substantial post-launch updates called “Special Operations” each featuring a unique themes, updates for the campaign, free missions, special rewards, updates to the PvP modes and features that were highly requested by the community.
The first Special Operation will include a new game mode for PvP called “Sabotage” with 5 exclusive maps, plus the first of six new classes being added to the mode and a new perk and explosive device. Other updates includes Teammate Customization which will allow players to customize teammates outfits with items they unlocked for their own character, and a new PvE challenge and mission for the campaign.
Wildlands players won’t have to wait long for the new content, as Ubisoft confirmed an April 10th release for Special Operations 1. At this point Ubisoft has kept silent on the other 3 packs, however we expect we’ll be hearing about them soon.
Since its release in March of 2017, Ubisoft Paris has been providing regular updates and events to Wildlands including the introduction of the 4v4 Ghost War mode and a special event staring The Predator. The publisher stated that Ghost Recon Wildlands has reached 10 million players worldwide, and the Paris studio is comitted to supporting the game with free content and continued improvements. A similar idea to Ubisoft’s other popular Tom Clancy game – Rainbow Six Siege – which is in its third year of additional content.
