Trailer for ‘Pixels’ released, staring Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, PAC-MAN and Donkey Kong
Gameitall Sony Pictures released a new trailer for Pixels, a Video Game comedy in which Aliens mistake video games as a declaration of war and creates iconic characters like Pac-man, Space Invaders, Pong and Donkey Kong to kill us.
The movie stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, and Josh Gad. The film is also directed by Chris Columbus who is best known for his work on the Harry Potter series and the Christmas classic ‘Home Alone.’
As far of our first impression, it looks entertaining and looks like a good Sunday afternoon comedy (one of those that you would watch if you have nothing better to do.) Pac-Man and Donkey Kong both look great in their 3D Pixel form and the cameo from Pac-Man’s creator Tōru Iwatani was a nice touch.
Of course this isn’t the only Video Game based movie planned for the next couple of years, with Ubisoft listing 6 of their IPs including Splinter Cell, Watch_Dogs and the already in production Assassin’s Creed. Sony confirmed works on “The Last of Us” while Konami has moved forward on a Metal Gear Solid movie, and finally we can look forward to DeadRising Watchtower, new Resident Evil, Hitman, World of Warcraft and of course, Angry Birds.
