Respawn’s dedication to delivering free content for Titanfall 2 continues with the Monarch’s Reign update, which is currently set to release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 30th. Like previous updates, this one will include a remake of a fan favourite level from the original Titanfall, new cosmetic items and Prime Titans, but this will also mark the first update to bring in a brand new playable Titan to the game.
The Monarch is the Seventh multiplayer Titan to be introduced, Respawn Entertainment detailed the Titan as “the IMC’s attempt to reverse-engineer the Militia’s Vanguard-class Titan with a decided focus on flexibility through survival and support options.” What makes the Monarch stand out is it’s upgraded core which can improve combat abilities during battles, as well as harvesting energy from other Titans and shielding allies.
As of the map for Monarch’s Reign, players will be taken back to “Relic” which has been remastered to include “clever wall running routes” found along hanging pieces of wreckage. This is also the update that will unlock the Tone and Ronin Prime Titans, the more impressive one being the Ronin which “charges the field with a samurai-inspired aesthetic including a visual-upgrade for his sword so he may more stylishly pierce the heavens (and enemy Titans).”
