The Walking Dead has had a great run both as a comic (ending just shy of Issue 200) and as a narrative driven adventure game from Telltale. While the comic and Telltale Games are no more, the publishing team at Skybound has retained the rights to the series and are releasing the four season of the Telltale Games series in one bundle.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will bring together seasons 1-4 of the acclaimed adventure game, along with the 400 Days DLC and The Walking Dead: Michonne together in one package. The bundle will also feature more than 10 hours of developer commentary, behind-the-scenes bonus features including new concept art and character art, and a “Return of the Walking Dead” documentary short.
One of the more interesting update for the game is a feature that was previously only featured in “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” called “graphic black”. This gave the game a new art style which pays homage to The Walking Dead Comics, this feature will now be available across all games in the series.
“Graphic black is a loving tribute to the source material and a powerful art style that makes the game look like a living comic book,” said Kent Mudle, Creative Director for The Walking Dead and the Still Not Bitten team at Skybound Games. “An idea the team formulated and perfected with THE FINAL SEASON, this new visual styling offers longtime fans a way to play the series again in a brand-new light while giving new audiences a smooth visual ride across all seasons.”
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will be available on September 10th, 2019 physically for PS4 and Xbox One, and digitally on the PSN, Microsoft Store and Epic Games Store. You can check out the “Graphic Black” options for the game in the trailer above.
