This Past week The Tragically Hip released their last album called Man Machine Poem, on May 24, 2016 the band announced that Gord Downie had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, at this announcement they stated that “The cancer has responded favourably to treatment” and that the band was going to do a 15 Date Canadian tour to promote the release of Man Machine Poem, with the final show in the bands hometown of Kingston, Ont on August 20, 2016. When Tickets went on sale they where quickly purchased as this would be the last tour for The Tragically Hip, lots of the tickets were purchased by scalpers and re-sold online for almost 2,000 per cent markup over face value, afterwards there were many petition by disappointed fans for the CBC to broadcast the concert to everyone, On June 17 the CBC announced that the concert would be live cross-platform broadcast on CBC Television, CBC Radio One, CBC Radio 2, CBC Music and YouTube.
The first single of the album is In a World Possessed by the Human Mind, to the sound of the song is similar to classic Tragically Hip songs from the 90’s, with the great vocal styling from Gord Downie and musical accompaniment from the rest of the band, and the song also a amazingly simple lyrical video that just works perfectly for this song.
