Developer Red Barrels announced at Gamescom that their new Cooperative horror game, The Outlast Trials, will be available this Halloween as a closed Beta.
Fans of the Run-and-Hide horror series will be able to play The Outlast Trials from October 28th to November 1st. Red Barrels didn’t explain how players will be able to get into the beta test at this time, however the beta is confirmed to be available on PC via Steam.
The Outlast Trials does a first for the series as it allows up to 4 players to attempt to survive the horrors of the Murkoff Corporation’s brutal experiments, and will take place as a prequel to the series, taking place in the cold-war era. Developer Red Barrels have said in the past that despite The Outlast Trials being the third game in the series, this will not be Outlast 3, which will be a direct sequel that they plan to make eventually.
The Outlast Trials was announced back in 2019 and is set to launch on PC as well as consoles, there is currently no release date for the game at this time.
