There is no question about it, Blizzard’s Action RPG Diablo is great, even if it is 23 years old (editor’s note: oh god!). The game however isn’t as readily available for those looking to enjoy searching the bowls of a cursed church where the lord of evil resides.
At least that was until yesterday, when GOG.com announced that the PC classic will be available for $9.99. It marks the first of a new partnership between Blizzard and GOG which will make the studio’s older classic games more accessible for modern audiences.
There isn’t any major upgrades done here, aside from working to make the game accessible with Windows 10 compatibility and a bunch of bug fixes to the 1996 classic (editor’s note: please stop making me feel old), the game plays much like it’s original release with 20 fps graphics and Battle.net matchmaking.
This isn’t going to be the only Blizzard game hitting the storefront, as the first ever digital version of the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, as well as Warcraft 2, are also on the way. No word on when we can expect these two classics at this time.
