There is a light at the end of the fungus filled tunnel as Sony and Naughty Dog has finally announced the release date for the highly anticipated sequel to their amazing action/horror game, The Last of Us, and surprisingly the wait isn’t that long.
During the State of Play livestream, Sony saved the latest trailer for the game for the last announcement of the show, which highlighted that the game will be out on February 21st 2020. Following the presentation, several editions were listed at retailers including a Special Edition, which contains the game, a 48-page mini art book, steelbook, avatar set and dynamic theme.
The Ellie Edition goes a step further by adding a 12″ Ellie Statue, Ellie’s Bracelet, Logo patch, lithograph art print and thank you record, 7″ vinyl record featuring the music from the game, 5 stickers, 6 enamel pins and a replica of Ellie’s Backpack.
The Last of Us Part 2 is also going to be a big game, as the physical editions are listing that the game will be distributed over two discs. While the new trailer certainly highlighted some great animation, new enemies both infected and not, as well as a better look at how the world has evolved since the ending of the first game, exact details on Ellie’s adventure is still slim.
You can check out the latest trailer for the game above. Hopefully now with the game’s release date out, we’ll be hearing more about the game as we get closer to the release – especially details on the game’s multiplayer mode.
