Telltale games has always been a busy company, taking on several properties at a time and yet still delivering some high quality games in the process. Yesterday at SDCC, the developer announced three new projects, including the return of a fan favourite (that sadly isn’t Sam and Max or Poker Night at the Inventory).
The first project announced was a new season of Batman titled “Batman – The Enemy Within”, as usual, the title will be a 5 part episodic adventure that will continue Telltale’s take on the Caped Crusader. Better yet, the new season will start on August 8th 2017 with “The Enigma.”
The latest chapter will see The Riddler return to terrorize Gotham with some gruesome puzzles, the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of the Joker. As Batman, players must navigate uneasy alliances, while as Bruce Wayne, players will undertake a perilous series of deceptions. While this season is designed to be accessible for newcomers and returning players alike, players will be able to carry their choices from the original series to allow a more tailored story.
Next up we have the 4th and Final season of the critically acclaimed and game of the year winning series, The Walking Dead. Currently under the working title of “The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – The Final Season.”
For the final season of The Walking Dead, Telltale has confirmed that they will focus on series regular Clementine as the main characters, allowing players to step back into the shoes of the fan-favourite after the conclusion of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.
“It’s going to be an amazing experience. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart,” said Melissa Hutchison, the award-winning actress who has been the voice of ‘Clementine’ since 2012. “It’s been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and so much love has been behind this whole experience. Good luck, I’ll be right there with you.”
The Walking Dead: The Final Season currently has 2018 release window on consoles, PC/Mac, iOS and Android-based devices.
Finally we the return of The Wolf Among Us, after overwhelming popular demand from fans since the series concluded in 2014. Wolf Among Us 2 (working title) is currently set to release in the second half of 2018 on all major gaming consoles and mobile gaming devices. The new season will also feature a fresh story arc for its returning cast of characters including Bigby Wolf and Snow White.
While not much has been said about Wolf Among Us 2, just the announcement that we’ll be able to jump back into the world of Fables already have us excited.
Now if we can only convince Telltale that we need a new Sam and Max.
