After the game was pre-maturely leaked via Amazon, Square Enix announced that they will be bringing their Final Fantasy fighting game – Dissidia, that has been co-developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja, to PS4 next year. Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT was previously a Japanese Arcade exclusive which brought Final Fantasy heroes and villains together in team based combat.
The game will feature online and offline play, as well as 20 playable characters across the famed RPG series including Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, Tidus, Lightning, Terra Branford and Squall. Players will also be able to bring summons to the battle in the forms of Ifrit, Shiva, Odin and Ramuh.
The Dissidia Arcade game has seen a lot of praise in Japanese arcades, and Square Enix has talked about bringing the title to PS4 in the past along with the possibility of adding Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis to the mix as well. The Amazon listing mentioned that there will also be “an all-new Final Fantasy story, written by writer Kazushige Nojima,” whose credits include the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts.
