For many people, Killer7 was their first experience with the crazy mind of Suda51. A twisted action-adventure title which featured assassins, mutant suicide bombers, and some weird on-rail style gameplay. The reception of the game didn’t really have a middle-ground, those who loved it loved it a lot, and those who hated it let their voices be known.
It has now been 13 years since the game came out on Gamecube and PS2, but now it’s getting a second life thanks to NIS America who is releasing it on Steam later this fall as co-publisher with Capcom. The PC re-release will feature the English Language version of the game and will be the first HD release of the title.
For those who haven’t played Killer7, you play as Harman Smith, an assassin who can manifest 7 different personalities into the real world. He is tasked with taking down Kun Lan and his deadly organization of mutant suicide bombers called “Heaven Smile”. Movement in the game is on-rails with shooting taking place in first person, players will have to navigate twisted levels and puzzles to find their target and assassinate them.
NIS did not give a release date at this time, and we expect to hear more soon. Until then check out the new trailer for the Remastered PC version above.
