After a long hiatus from the series, one of the original three playable characters from the first Streets of Rage games in on the Sega Genesis, Adam Hunter, is returning to beat down more gang-members in Streets of Rage 4.
The confirmation that Adam will be returning to the game came from a new trailer shown at Nintendo’s Indie World Livestream which showcased Adam in action and some co-op beat-down with the previously announced Axel, Blaze and Cherry (who happens to be Adam’s daughter) while boasting some slick animation.
Adam was only playable in the first Streets of Rage game, being replaced by his brother Sam “Skate” Hunter in both Streets of Rage 2 and 3 – with his kidnapping a central plot for the second game. Adam was the power-house character of the three in the original, with the highest strength stat in the game and using a form of boxing as his main fighting style (with some power kicks for good measure.)
Streets of Rage 4 will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC and Xbox One, however, no release date has been given at this time.
