Whether you love or hate Star Wars Episode 1, one thing that you can admit is that the Podracing sequence in the film was pretty cool and it made for a great sci-fi racer on the N64 when it was first released in 1999.
Now we can enjoy the game on PC just in for Star Wars day thanks to GOG.com who have re-released the classic racer. Star Wars Episode 1: Racer allows players to play one of the many different racers from Star Wars Episode 1 including young Anakin Skywalker, Subulba… and a bunch of other characters who only appeared in the background of the scene, as they race across the Star Wars Universe at high speeds on extremely dangerous tracks.
The PC Re-release runs great on modern PCs and supports multiplayer over LAN. Players can pick up the game at a discount with other Star Wars titles including Knights of the Old Republic I & II, Classic 2005 Battlefront, Jedi Academy and Dark Forces as part of the “May the 4th” Sale which is running until May 8th.
