Despite rumours that have been flowing around regarding the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Beta, EA has confirmed that the Survival mode will be restricted to Online play, despite the mode being available for both on and offline when the full game is released.
“Offline gameplay will not be available within the beta,” Battlefront community manager Mat Everett wrote on Reddit. “For the beta, an Internet connection is required to play Missions.”
The Beta’s Survival Mission will take place on Tatooine, in which you’ll be able to play solo, split-screen or online co-op against an increasingly difficult amount of Empire troops including AT-STs, TIE fighters, “elite” Stormtroopers, and other enemies.
The Beta will be open to everyone when it launches on October 8th-12th and will require 7GB of disk space on PS4/Xbox One (11GB for PC). It will also includes the 40 player Walker Assault and Drop Zone game modes. Battlefront is set to launch on November 17th, a month before Episode 7 releases in theatres.
