If you’re still on the fence about the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, which is being developed by Battlefield Developers DICE. Then you may want to prepare for the upcoming Open Beta which will hit the PS4, Xbox One and PC in Early October.
EA confirmed that an open beta for the upcoming multiplayer shooter will include a 40 player Rebel vs Empire game of Walker Assault on Hoth, which will also give players the opportunity to play as Hero Class characters Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. A second mode, Survival Mission Tatooine, will see a 2 player team take on waves of Empire Forces in a desert canyon. These would be the two modes featured heavily at E3 earlier this year during both EA and Sony’s press conference. EA also confirmed that the Beta will feature a brand new mode called Drop Zone, however stated that there will be more details on that mode later.
Another new feature announced was the Battlefront Companion, which will incorporates a strategy card game called Base Command that delivers in-game unlocks such as weapons, as well as track stats and progression, manage loadouts, and connect with friends who play the game.
The open Beta will help DICE test the server load for the upcoming game and provide a decent demo for those on the fence. EA will deliver more information about the upcoming Beta soon, so stay tune for more info as it arrives.
