After some speculation on what exactly Square Enix is going to bring to their E3 Press Conference on June 10th, Marvel Entertainment has decided to let us know at least one thing that we’ll see at the show via Twitter. That game is the long awaited Avengers title from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal (the creators of Tomb Raider and Deus Ex) simply called Marvel’s The Avengers.
The Avengers game was announced back in 2017 with a short teaser trailer calling it The Avengers Project. The trailer showcased the iconic weapons of the various heroes such as Captain America’s Shield and Iron Man’s Repulsors, however the project has been pretty silent since then.
It isn’t clear if the game will tie into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, however Marvel has been in the talks of creating a separate Game Universe to branch out the stories of the classic heroes. The Marvel Cinematic Universe recently released Avengers: Endgame and will be finishing its Phase 3 set of films (now dubbed the Infinity Saga) with Spider-man: Far from Home, which will set up the start of Phase 4.
Square Enix will be taking the E3 stage on June 10th at 9PM ET. Be sure to follow us on Twitch for a special Pre and Post show podcast.
