Sony is going to be missing out on another chance to show off its upcoming games as Sony Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to cancel their appearance at PAX East in Boston which will be held from February 27th through March 1st.
Sony’s official statement comes from SIE content communications manager Justin Massongill who said: “Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as ‘novel coronavirus’). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern.”
The news comes a week after Sony announced its plans to attend PAX East with demos such as Doom Eternal, Nioh 2, Spelunky 2, Dreams, Marvel’s Iron Man VR and the first public demo of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2, which is set to release on May 29th, 2020.
