The Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie hit a major speedbump early on as NOBODY liked his design. Universally panned, the studio decided to delay the movie and deliver a redesign to the blue blur in order to satisfy fans of the franchise and finally the moment has arrived to see the new look.
Thankfully, the studio did the right thing and made Sonic look like… well… Sonic.
The latest trailer is mostly new scenes that showcase Sonic (voiced by Parks and Recreation’s Ben Schwartz) being buddies with James Marsden’s Tom Wachowski and taking on threats from Dr. Robotnik played by the scene-stealing Jim Carrey. There are plenty of robots, chases, jokes about Sonic being extremely fast which if I’m being honest – are hit and miss.
Sonic the Hedgehog is set to release on February 14th, 2020, and is directed by Jeff Fowler.
