Hey remember Hoobastank? They were awesome, they had hits like “Crawling in the Dark” and “Same Direction” and… I guess that overplayed piece of garbage that was really only their one-hit. While they seemed to fade to obscurity from the main spotlight, the band has been kicking around and will have a new album coming soon, so all jokes aside, there is a relative reason to get excited to see for what is coming from the band.
Now the Sonic series is no stranger to using catchy Pop-Rock Tunes (you’re already thinking about “Escape from the City” from Sonic Adventure 2) and has featured bands like Crush 40, Cash Cash and Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup. For the upcoming Sonic Forces, Sega has pulled Hoobastank’s singer, Douglas Robb, to back the vocals for the main theme of the game titled “Fist Bump.”
While I find it’s not as strong as other Sonic songs (“rolling around at the speed of sound…”) it is still a catchy tune and it seems that people are digging the tune so far if Twitter and the Youtube comments is any indication. You can check out the tune above, and let us know what you think?
