When Skullgirls: Encore hits the PS4, you’ll have plenty of people to fight against as the game will support a cross-play with the PS3 version of the game. This feature was confirmed via a Tweet from senior animator Jonathan “Persona” Kim, who also broke the news that the next Skullgirl character, Beowulf had been submitted to Sony for testing.
According to the Lab Zero Website, those who purchased the original Skullgirls game before the Encore update will receive the game for PS4 and Vita for free, however it is not currently listed as a cross-buy title for those who had purchased the Encore edition. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the update when Beowulf’s DLC launches.
**UPDATE**
Looks like the link above was from an older posting regarding the PS3 version of Skullgirls and not the PS4 and Vita versions. To be clear the post stats: “All PSN purchasers of the original release of Skullgirls will receive Skullgirls Encore free, similar to a PS3/PS4/Vita Cross-Buy.” We apologize for the mistake and thank Lab Zero for pointing this out to us.
