Sifu, the upcoming game from Absolver creators Sloclap, isn’t a big jump from their previous Kung-fu-centric game with the major exception that it will be a single-player focused title. It’s a true-to-combat Kung-fu story with themes of revenge and redemption while featuring brutal encounters through a fictional Chinese city.
During Gamescom last week, the studio dropped a new trailer showcasing the game’s fast-paced combat, some locations, and enemies you’ll be able to fight. From rooftops in the slums in the city, fancy art museums with high security, to a strange firelit alley that seemed to be from the past.
Players are able to use their skills, the environment, and several types of weapons to take on a variety of enemies. If players fall to the enemies, they will be given another chance thanks to a mythical medallion however it will force you to age several years, how this will affect the game directly has not been disclosed at this time.
Sifu is set to launch on February 22nd, 2022, for Playstation consoles and PC via the Epic Game Store for $39.99 USD for the standard edition, and $49.99 USD for the Deluxe edition which will include a 2-day early access to the game, a digital artbook “The Art of Sifu,” and the game’s original soundtrack by Howie Lee.
