Previously announced at E3 last year, EA’s Indie Adventure game from their EA Originals line – Sea of Solitude, has finally been given a release date for July 5th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Sea of Solitude focuses on Kay, a young girl trapped in a flooded cityscape with dark creatures. Kay must navigate the cityscape which reflects insecurities which change according to her own state of mind, and deal with the loneliness she’s feeling or be turned into another of those beasts.
Developed by Jo-Mei Games, Sea of Solitude is the third game to come from the EA Originals program, which helps bring big-name publisher muscle to smaller projects. The other two games released in this line were Fe and the critically acclaimed A Way Out.
“Sea of Solitude centers on the essence of loneliness and tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality. It’s by far the most artistic and personal project I’ve ever created, written during a very emotional time in my life,” Jo-Mei CEO Cornelia Geppert said in the announcement. “Designing characters based on emotions was a deeply personal achievement for our team and we’re so excited for players to soon experience Kay’s powerful story of self-discovery and healing.”
