Deep Silver announced yesterday that they’ll be bringing one of the best open world games of last gen to the Nintendo Switch by porting over Volition’s Saints Row: The Third.
While no release date has been given at this time or what we can expect for content on the Switch port of the 2011 open world chaos simulator, Deep Silver did promise that “more info to be revealed in due course” possibly at Gamescom this week.
Saints Row: The Third focused on the Third Street Saints as they become massive superstars in the gangster world, with product deals, movies and clothing endorsements. They get a wake-up call when gang network attempts to snuff them out, forcing the Saints to take revenge in an over-the-top fashion that involves jumping through a plane, fighting in a virtual world as a toilet, and hitting people with a giant purple sex toy.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Saints get a remastered port as Saints Row IV was bundled with the stand-alone expansion, Gat out of Hell for PS4 and Xbox One. As of why Deep Silver decided to go a step back for the Switch release, we’re not sure, but we’re happy that our favourite version of the Saints will be back again and portable.
