We’re less than two weeks away from E3 and it’s about that time that the leaks start coming in. This time, the leak falls to Ubisoft with an interesting take on a Multiplayer Roller Derby game in the same vein as Rocket League.
The leak was first reported by Spiel Times via leaked assets and gameplay details, which have now appeared on ResetEra, suggesting the game is called Roller Champions. The game looks like a mash up between the character design of Fortnite, with environments that look similar to Rocket League, with beaches and in-door stadiums closed off by cheering fans.
Polygon has reached out to Ubisoft however the company replied back advising that they do not comment on “rumours and speculations” so unfortunately nothing has been officially confirmed. During May 2019 financial earnings call, Ubisoft did state that they have three unannounced games scheduled to be released between January and March 2020. Other than confirming that these will be three full-priced games and “unique experiences,” Ubisoft has remained tight-lipped on the said content.
Of course, without full confirmation from Ubisoft, this one goes into the rumour pile for now. However E3 isn’t too far away and it is the perfect time to announce a new game to the masses, so we wouldn’t be surprise to here something official soon.
