Creative Assembly, the studio behind the popular Total War series and the horrifying Alien: Isolation, have been working on a new IP according to reports back in January. They’ve been quiet about the project however a new job posting at Creative Assembly hint heavily that the game is possibly a hero-based shooter.
Noticed by VG247, the studio listed that they’re looking for a lead hero designer to work on a “ground-breaking FPS.” The posting stated that they were looking for someone to lead the creative process for “exciting playable characters” that each have “a range of amazing thought and play provoking specialties.” The role also asks to have a “broad understanding of monetization, rewards, and art production” and a willingness to provide “guidance on visual design and cosmetics.”
The sub genre of Hero Shooters has proven to be extremely popular with games like Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, Team Fortress 2 and Apex Legends, however it is a risky genre to step into especially this late in the game, take Lawbreakers and Battleborn for two perfect examples.
However, it will be interesting to see what Creative Assembly brings to the table. Creative Assembly has yet to officially confirm any information for the upcoming game and with these listing its likely we won’t be hearing anything new for some time. We’ll keep you in the loop if we find anything more on the game.
