A long long time ago, when I could still remember, how music games used to make me smile.
April 2nd is going to be a sad day for fans of the Rock Band series and will mostly likely be dubbed the “day the music DLC died” (or at least that’s what I’m calling it.) As previously mentioned in our Podcast, April 2nd will mark the end of the Rock Band DLC which ran forĀ a steady 6 years. In that 6 years we seen thousands of songs hit the store (for better or worst) as well as the launch of the Rock Band Network which gave indie bands a chance at the show.
Harmonix announced that the final song would be Don McLean’s 1971 classic “American Pie.” This was outed last night at the Pax East party with an official Harmonix statement. They mentioned that this would be the 8 minute version of the song as well. We can’t think of a better song to go out on.
