Persona 4’s former pop idol and fan favourite, Rise Kujikawa, is ready to jump in the fight in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, due later this year on PS3 and Xbox 360. Previously Risette was featured as an announcer for the fights and did analysis support for your team in Persona 4 and it’s PS Vita Remake, Persona 4: Golden. She joins Persona 3 characters Yukari and Junpei as well as a new original character, Sho Minazuki.
Rise’s fight style is more defensive, using projectile attacks such as music notes that explode when it connects, as well as her Persona’s ability to analysis the opponents will make her strikes much stronger. As with the other characters in P4AU, Rise’s Shadow will make an appearance, Shadow Rise has her own exclusive performances, starting off from billboards like “Risechii Tokudashi SP!” (“Risette EXPOSED!”).
Of course with this announcement we’ve been given more information on the updated version of Persona 4 Arena. For instance, the PS3 version of the game will include an additonal storyline that fills the gap after the games titled Episode P3 and Episode P4, told by the Persona 3 cast and Persona 4 cast respectively. Also announced was the Golden Arena Mode, which will allow you to select a character and progress through levels, earning experience points to level up your character and increase your skills, similar to that of the Virtua Fighter Series.
With the Announcement of Rise, rumours have been popping up Ken Amada, Persona 3’s youngest character, may also be joining the fight. The rumours come from a listing on Best-Buy that stated that the game will be 6 new fighters including the previously announced characters. While there is confirmation of this rumour and the page is now removed from the Best-Buy webpage, the announcement of Rise does put some credibility to the announcement.
