Capcom’s multiplayer shooter based in the Resident Evil universe, Umbrella Corps, is currently set to release some time in May 2016 according to a recent trailer. The squad based third person shooter was first shown at TGS last year, where Capcom showed off some of the multiplayer based action which pitted two squads in an Umbrella lab filled with Zombies.
The latest trailer showed off some more, familiar maps, as the village from Resident Evil 4, and a map based in Africa referencing Resident Evil 5. While the game is aimed to be a multiplayer experience, Capcom also announced that there will be a mission-based player campaign as well.
While it’s easy to draw similarities to Capcom’s previous attempt, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the game does seem to be a better approach to the concept of a multiplayer shooter in the RE world.
