The Resident Evil series will be turning 20th next year, and along with the HD remake of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 2, Capcom announced the previously rumoured Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps at Sony’s Pre TGS show this morning.
Interesting enough, the upcoming Umbrella Corps spin-off will be a competitive shooter where Umbrella security personnel are fighting each other in the mist of a zombie outbreak. Zombies can be used as bait, attackers and even shields during the match, with some characters also being able to use technology to repel the zombies as well.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this in the Resident Evil series, as Capcom previously flirted with Resident Evil as a shooter with 2012’s Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which was developed by Slant Six Games.
The game is set to launch in early 2016, and will be priced at $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 for PS4 and PC.
