Capcom is injecting some horror into the upcoming Umbrella Corps, the multiplayer shooter based on the Resident Evil Universe, as the company announced a new map based on the Resident Evil: Code Veronica spin-off and a new special infected monster.
The new map takes place after the events of Code Veronica and is set in the Arctic Base, one of the final set pieces in the game. The base remains in its heavily destroyed state, featuring a vertically expansive play area covering three floors, allowing for an intense game of hide and seek between the two mercenary squads, with players utilizing cover points, interwoven ventilation ducts, and ladders to unleash deadly surprise attacks in what Capcom calls “The most Tactical map in the game.”
Finally, Capcom also announce the appearance of “Special Mutated Zombies” which can be found in the game’s single player Experiment Mode’s Antarctic Base map and in the Multi-Mission Mode’s SP DNA Hunter ruleset. These mutants will be harder to defeat then normal zombies, and will have the ability to render the Zombie Jammer completely useless, opening up your mercenaries to a horde attack.
Umbrella Corps is set to launch on June 21 2016 on PS4 and PC digitally for $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99. You can see a gallery of the new infected and the Arctic map below.
