For those who are excited for “The Final Chapter” of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil Movies will have to wait as production of the movie has come to a hiatus while actress Milla Jovovich prepares for her next child. Jovovich announced the delay and the child via Facebook.
“We thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie. Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes.” Stated Jovovich. “We want to make the best movie possible and that would be extremely difficult, to say the least, in my present condition.” We definitely agree that zombies/B.O.W.s definitely don’t mix well with babies, which makes for an understandable hiatus. Production is set to resume next summer with a planned 2016 release date.
Jovovich and her director husband have been working on the Resident Evil movie series loosely based on the Capcom Survival Horror Game since 2002, where Jovovich played Alice, a Umbrella employee, turned super soldier, turned Savior of mankind. The series spawned 5 titles so far, with the latest released in 2012, in which they had seen a combined total of $915,934,667 worldwide.
