While the project has been hinted and leaked multiple times, during Sony’s State of Play Livestream, Capcom officially announced that they are making Resident Evil 3 in the same style of the 2019 release of Resident Evil 2, updating the game with over the shoulder camera and a new graphical update thanks to the RE Engine.
Resident Evil 3 has been highly requested since the reveal of the Resident Evil 2 remake and will see the return of Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape Raccoon City and deal with the terrifying bio-organic weapon known as Nemesis. The cast has gotten an updated look which includes a new wardrobe for Jill and haircut for Carlos, an Umbrella PMC, which fits with the new action style that the game has adopted.
While there wasn’t a question about when or if Resident Evil 3 Remake was coming, what was surprising is that Capcom announced that they will be bundling the remake with their upcoming multiplayer Resident Evil experience called Project REsistance – a 4v1 multiplayer game that pits a group of survivors who are attempting to escape against a mastermind who is placing traps and monsters for them to deal with.
Resident Evil 3 and Project Resistance will be coming April 3rd, 2020, with pre-orders available now.
