The third trailer for Rockstar’s Highly Anticipated sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, has finally given players something to look forward to on October 26rd with a mix of story scenes, gunplay, horse riding and train robberies. More importantly, it also gave us a look at Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston.
The latest trailer also confirms that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899, twelve years before Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar also provided a short synopsis of the game’s story.
America, 1899.
The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
As per John’s apperance in the trailer, it seems like we’re going to see more of why John left the Van der Linde gang and how he got roped into the events of the first game. After all, Marston’s famous facial scars look very fresh in the latest trailers.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set for October 26th 2018 release with no delays in sight. The game is currently listed for a PS4 and Xbox One release, with no PC release announced at this time.
