By now you have probably heard about the Reading Rainbow Kickstarter that has blown away the internet by earning over $2,500,000 within in it’s first 48 hours. The original funding request was for $1 Million Dollars to help bring Reading Rainbow to the web along with over 1,500 classrooms for free.
Now it’s time for to go for the Stretch Goals. The first Stretch Goal for the Kickstarter will bring Reading Rainbow to over 7500 classrooms and create an app for Mobile Devices including Android phones and tablets, as well as Gaming Consoles and OTT devices including the Fire TV, AppleTV and more.
For those too young to remember, Reading Rainbow was a TV show on PBS staring LeVar Burton (better known as Geordi La Forge, from Star Trek: The Next Generation) that ran from 1983 to 2006. The Educational show earned a ton of different awards including 26 Emmys and helped combat illiteracy. If you wish to help LeVar Burton and the Reading Rainbow team move this series to a new generation, then we highly recommend going to their Kickstarter Page. As of this writing, there has reached $2,944,964 dollars and have 32 days left to reach their goals.
