Shortly after the announcement of some big name star-power for the upcoming Ratchet & Clank movie, it was announced that the upcoming movie would be pushed back from it’s original release of this year to 2016. This delay also hit the PS4 re-imagining of the first game in the series as well.
“While you might have to wait a bit longer than expected, rest assured we’re using the time wisely to further polish the game to a spit-shine level, with dazzling shader response, awe-inspiring effects, velvety smooth animations, and spectacular new gameplay segments,” Insomniac Games chief brand officer Ryan Schneider said. “Really, we can’t wait to show it to you.”
The game is being developed by Insomniac, the game’s original creators, and will feature several new levels as well as re-imagined locations from the original game like Metropolis. It will also have new weapons and new visuals that take advantage of the PS4’s hardware.
The game is set to release along side the movie, which was confirmed for an April 29, 2016. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the movie and game at E3 next month.
