Ubisoft Montreal’s highly anticipated shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, will be released on October 13th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will feature a 5-versus-5 multiplayer of terrorist vs counter-terrorists on highly destructible maps.
“Players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy position,” Ubisoft explained in a recent investor call.
Ubisoft has quite a bit of confidence that Siege will do well due to it’s multiplayer component, even expecting to beat out our Game of the Year winner Far Cry 4, in which “Over its lifetime, we believe Rainbow Six: Siege has the potential to become the highest-selling shooter in Ubisoft’s history,” stated Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
While Ubisoft has hinted in the past, we have yet to hear any information on the game’s single-player component, whether it still exists or if the game will be multiplayer only. Hopefully we’ll find out more at Ubisoft’s E3 conference next month.
