Bandai Namco is teaming up once again with CyberConnect2 (.hack, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja) for “the most dramatic and epic telling of the Dragon Ball Z story to date,” with a new Action RPG title currently called Dragon Ball Game – Project Z, set to release sometime this year.
There isn’t much details on what exactly Project Z is, other than that players will be playing as Goku and experience an “unforgettable adventure” with “over-the-top battles and challenging quests.” The announcement trailer also shows a small amount of game footage which suggests the Dragon Ball Z story up at least up to the Frieza saga.
“Combining the fabled story of DRAGON BALL Z with a proven video game development studio is a surefire way to create an awesome DRAGON BALL adventure,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “We can’t wait to unveil the official name for the game and share more gameplay details with players!”
Project Z is set to release on Playstation 4, PC and Xbox One. You can check out the trailer above. We’ll keep you posted once we know more about the upcoming Action RPG.
