E3 this year was big for JRPG, with a remake of Final Fantasy VII, World of Final Fantasy, Nier 2 (working title), and Xenoblade Chronicle X all making a splash at the show. Interesting enough, Atlus’ highly anticipated RPG, Persona 5, was not at the show aside from the already released trailer on loop at the Atlus booth.
It seems like the reasoning for it is very simple. “Persona 5 is one of our biggest titles,” said Atlus PR manager John Hardin to Polygon when inquired about the title. “We have to treat it with delicacy and care. No one likes to be spoiled, and especially not with a title of this magnitude. We just don’t have anything ready.”
Hardin did confirm that the game is looking at a 2015 release date for both Japan and North America on PS3 and PS4. Of course we won’t hear much more about the game until it’s ready for launch.
