Atlus USA announced yesterday that the sequel to our 2012 Fighting Game of the Year, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will hit stores on September 30th 2014 in North America for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Ultimax will continue the story originally set in Persona 4 Arena, adding the rest of the SEES team (Yukari, Junpei, Ken, and Koromaru) from Persona 3, Persona 4’s fan favourite Rise, as well as a new character introduced for the game. Returning characters will see a slew of new upgrades and new moves, including a new “Shadow” variants.
Pre-orders are available now, with bonus include physical goodies of the first set of Persona Tarot cards (featuring the game’s many Arcanas) as well as a inflatable Teddie bop bag. Ultimax will also be the first of the series to include DLC characters, with Persona 4’s bumbling detective Adachi and Persona 4: The Golden’s Marie, both will be available for free during the first week of launch. Reports from Famitsu (Via Siliconera), have stated that Persona 4’s Velvet room assistant, Margaret, will be a third DLC character to be released at a later time.
