A couple of weeks ago, Blizzard Entertainment announced a major change in the upcoming update to their Game of the Year winning shooter, Overwatch. The change was a custom game browser, allowing players to set up their own Overwatch matches set to their own rules, allowing players to change character hit points, which hero was allowed in match, as well as the health, damage and cooldown inputs in a similar fashion to the Weekly Brawls only user controlled.
The mode has been live on their Public Test Region in prep for launch, but today Blizzard has opened up those gate for everyone on console and PC. Once a player has created a custom game, they can invite their friends or open it up publicly for all to enjoy, and for those looking for something specific when going through the menu, Blizzard did announce a search feature allowing you to single out games with specific rules.
One of the modes available in the custom mode will the popular capture the flag mode which was introduced during the resent Year of the Rooster event that took place earlier in the month. The mode is now completely customizable, allowing players to designate wait times for the flag and how many captures are needed for victory.
